Pakistan launches permanent residency scheme

Web Desk — With the prevailing financial problems, Pakistan has decided to offer permanent residency to foreign investors to attract heavy investments.

Fawad Chaudhry, Pakistan’s Information Minister, tweeted late on Friday that his government had decided to allow permanent residency for foreign nationals in line with its new National Security Policy. The new policy allows foreigners to become permanent residents without investing.”

Government officials believe that this move will help Pakistan attract billions of dollars in foreign investment by giving Pakistani nationality to foreign investors.

According to reports, the government wanted to attract Afghan nationals who were making heavy investments in Iran, Turkey, and Malaysia.
