Web Desk — The desperate Men in Blue will take on Afghanistan, known to play fearless cricket, in its third T20 World Cup 2021 group match in Abu Dhabi today at 7 pm (PST).
The Indian squad’s main target is to win their remaining three group matches to keep their chance alive for the semi-final. However, it goes without saying that India’s semi-final hopes clearly hang in the balance after two consecutive defeats by Pakistan and New Zealand.
Though the damage has already been done but if India beat Afghanistan and Scotland and Namibia in their subsequent games, the Kohli elven would need other results that favour them and the net run rate to pave their way to the semis.
For both teams, today’s match is a must-win game in the Super 12 stage of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup.
As of now, with a -1.609 run rate, the Indian cricket team stands only behind Namibia.
