Australian Players Yet Unclear About Pakistan Tour

Australia tour of Pakistan 2022

By Web Desk — The Sydney Morning Herald reported on Wednesday that Australian cricketers are on edge barely a month before their first tour to Pakistan in 24 years amid an uptick in terror attacks.

The Australian cricket team is all anxious and worried about their tour to Pakistan, a source close to the team told the newspaper.

Starting March 3, Australia will play three tests, three one-day internationals, and one Twenty20 match in Pakistan.

On Wednesday, selector George Bailey told reporters that security arrangements would be “very, very robust and very thorough”.

He added, “I believe the boards are still working through some of the minor details around that tour, so once that gets the formal approval, we’ll announce the squad after that, but we’re reasonably close to finalizing the itinerary at this point.”

As a result of security concerns, Australia has not toured Pakistan since 1998, instead of playing its away matches in the United Arab Emirates.
