Andy Flower leaves Multan Sultans Midway

By Web Desk — Andy Flower, one of Zimbabwe’s most successful cricketers, has left Multan Sultans midway through the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season to be in India for the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction.

On February 12-13, the former Zimbabwe captain will attend the IPL mega auction in Bengaluru as head coach of the new franchise, Lucknow Super Giants.

According to Cricket Pakistan, Multan Sultans’ media officials have stated that Flower will continue to guide the PSL side virtually and will be back in Pakistan on February 13.

“Sultans will be without Flower for at least 10 days. He will head Lucknow Super Giants in the mega auction scheduled for February 12-13 in Bangalore,” the report said, quoting Sultans’ officials.

The Sultans will play Peshawar Zalmi on February 5 and 10 and Lahore Qalandars on February 11. The Zimbabwean great will be back with the team for the match against Karachi Kings on February 16.

Mushtaq Ahmed, a former Pakistan cricketer, will be the squad’s coach in Flower’s absence. The Sultans have won all four matches so far in PSL-7 and are leading the charts.
