Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Aurangzeb Ahmed has recently become one of the most searched individuals in Pakistan amid rising tensions with India.

According to Google Trends, at 2 AM on May 12, searches for the term “Aurangzeb” peaked, making it the top trending query of the past week. His distinct style and charismatic presence contributed to his rapid rise in popularity.

Aurangzeb Ahmed became a social media sensation following a press briefing where his confident and humorous manner of speaking captured widespread attention. Audiences were particularly amused by his witty remarks and engaging tone.

One viral video clip features Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb saying:
“Let’s continue where we left off yesterday — PAF vs IAF. The score remains 6-0 in our favor.”

This statement was a reference to the downing of six Indian aircraft by Pakistan: three Rafales, one SU-30, one MiG-29, and one drone.

Aurangzeb Ahmed stated that in response to Indian aggression, the PAF launched Operation Bunyān al-Marsūs during the night between May 6 and 7. The objective of the operation was to deliver a decisive response to India’s attacks targeting civilians.

It’s also worth noting that in India, one of the top trending Google searches during this period was “Ceasefire meaning,” which was reportedly searched over 10 million times.

Operation Bunyān al-Marsūs

Under Operation Bunyān al-Marsūs, Pakistan targeted multiple Indian sites, including:

  • Udhampur Airbase
  • Pathankot Airbase
  • Sirsa Airbase
  • Suratgarh Airfields
  • BrahMos missile storage site
  • Indian Brigade HQ (G Top)
  • Supply depot in Uri

A total of 12 strategic targets were reported to have been destroyed.

When India launched an airstrike on Pakistan during the night of May 7, the Pakistan Air Force responded swiftly and effectively. In a nighttime missile counterattack, PAF downed five Indian warplanes, including a French-made Rafale, that had attempted to target civilian areas.
