Web Desk: The Saudi Ministry of Health has mandated all essential vaccinations and preventive measures for Umrah pilgrims.
The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) of Saudi Arabia has issued new health guidelines for pilgrims traveling for Umrah. According to the notification, passengers are required to carry health documents, including vaccination certificates.
Saudi authorities have made the meningitis vaccine mandatory for all pilgrims arriving from around the world. Pilgrims entering Saudi Arabia must present a valid vaccination certificate.
As per the notification, polio vaccination is mandatory for pilgrims coming from Pakistan, Nigeria, Afghanistan, and other affected countries. Additionally, travelers from Angola, Nigeria, Brazil, and Congo must receive the yellow fever vaccine.
The notification further states that based on recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO), COVID-19 and seasonal flu vaccines are also mandatory. Pilgrims are advised to complete vaccinations for tetanus, measles, and other diseases before traveling.
