SC Issues Stay Order On Judicial Reforms Bill 2023

Monitoring Desk — The Supreme Court of Pakistan has issued a stay order on the implementation of the Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Bill 2023 till further orders.

Headed by Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial, the 8-judge larger bench of the apex court comprises Justice Ijazul Ahsan, Justice Muneeb Akhtar, Justice Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Ayesha Malik, Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi, and Justice Shahid Waheed heard the petitions against the judicial reforms bill.

Attorney General of Pakistan (AGP) Mansoor Awan and the petitioner’s lawyers Advocate Azhar Siddique and Advocate Imtiaz Rashid Siddiqui appeared before the larger bench.
