Imran Khan’s PTI Boycots Voting For Constitutional Amendment

PTI boycotts 26th constitutional amendment

Monitoring Desk — The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to boycott what it calls the ‘Controversial Constitutional Legislative Process.’

The Political Committee of the PTI decided that the party would remain aloof in the voting process for the 26th Constitutional Amendment.

Imran Khan’s PTI decided to withdraw from a “non-transparent” process regarding the 26th constitutional amendment as Parliament prepares for crucial votes.

PTI’s Political Committee has directed its members that the party would boycott voting in both houses of the parliament. It further said that the PTI members in the National Assembly and Senate are bound to obey the party’s directions.

The constitutional amendment package for major judicial reforms is expected to be presented in Parliament today. Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman’s JUI-F would probably vote for the amendment. Earlier, the JUI-F Chief said he would get PTI’s final answer today regarding voting.
