Web Desk — The Batman has been dominating the box office since it was released earlier this month. With over $500 million at the global box office since the film’s March 4th premiere, the movie’s momentum has been unstoppable. In just under two weeks since the release, the exact number is $505.8 Million.
Currently, the film has earned $258.3 million domestically and $247.5 million internationally. As of its first two domestic weekends, it grossed $134 million and $66.5 million respectively, with its global debut of $258.2 million smashing Warner Brothers’ previous pandemic record. Also, it had Warner Bros.’ best international opening since Joker in 2019. In addition, it is the third biggest overseas opening of the pandemic era, only behind Spider-Man: No Way Home and No Time To Die.
It has also been a runaway hit in many of the sixty-two individual markets, including France, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Italy, and Spain. The film had the biggest opening ever for a DC film in seven of these markets, and it had the biggest Warner Bros. opening ever in Iceland.
To add to all of these successes, The Batman opens in China this Friday and has topped the charts in the early hours of its release despite a COVID spike affecting that market. COVID is yet to have an impact on China’s box office, but given that the country is the world’s second-largest, it should still make a lot of money there.
In a statement, Warner Bros Pictures chairman Toby Emmerich said, “We couldn’t be more thrilled to see all over the world enjoying The Batman in theaters.”
With Pattinson stars in the title role, Dano is the Riddler, Farrell is the Penguin and Kravitz is Catwoman, the Batman is well on its way to becoming the next billion-dollar blockbuster. According to film critics, Pattinson’s Batman has beaten Christian Bale’s Batman – the Dark Night Rises in 2012.
The film’s main villain is The Riddler, played by Paul Dano, who is far darker and more intense than the most familiar versions of the character.
Like all over the world, the Batman had a great start in Pakistan as well by earning Rs 45 million on weekends in Pakistan which is the highest business of any film in Pakistan this year.
