Web Desk — Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has shared information about the Federal Food Security Portal, which allows importers and exporters to register themselves and initiate trade requests without visiting field offices for submission of applications.
In a presentation to Federal Minister Syed Fakhar Imam, PITB Chairman Azfar Manzoor and DG IT-Operations Faisal Yousaf presented the portal which will allow authorized persons to use mobile applications at entry/exit points for the inspection of commodities, whereas traders will receive phytosanitary certificates on the spot.
As a result, the portal will enable the government to gather first-hand information and make timely decisions about import and export policies.
The department will also be able to use this system for field officer performance monitoring tool and the payment will also be atomized by the PITB.
