Web Desk — As Pakistan’s first and largest Islamic bank, Meezan Bank recently introduced mobile-based contactless payments to its customers through its Mobile Banking App.
By using Near Field Communications (NFC) technology, the Meezan Mobile Tap & Go service allows customers to simply tap their Android smartphones at POS (Point of Sale) machines of merchant outlets that support NFC to pay.
Due to the use of tokenization technology, mobile-based contactless payments are among the most secure methods of payment available today. Since the card number is not revealed at the time of payment, the transaction is highly secure.
In addition, the payment involves unlocking the phone at the POS machine (card payment machine), which is like entering a PIN when using a physical card.
Mobile-based contactless payments are not only totally secure but also the fastest payment method available today.
With the Meezan Mobile App, customers can create digital versions of their physical debit cards and then use NFC on their smartphones to make payments without carrying their physical cards. “Meezan Bank was the first to introduce contactless cards in Pakistan.
As a result of Meezan Tap & Go, Meezan Bank has further strengthened its position as a leader in digital payments. In order to offer our customers the best payment experience, we always bring the latest global innovations to their attention. Moreover, COVID-19 has made contactless payments more relevant, so Meezan Bank encourages its customers to use payment methods that are safe and secure,” said Shariq Mubeen, Head Alternate Distribution Channels.
