In a significant development following Pakistan’s decisive Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq, the Afghan Taliban regime has signaled its willingness to engage in talks with Pakistan, with spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid stating that dialogue is the better option to resolve ongoing conflicts.

In his statement, Mujahid emphasized that Afghanistan has previously held talks with Pakistan for the sake of peace. “In the context of the ongoing fighting, it would be better to resolve conflicts at the dialogue table,” he said, marking a notable shift in rhetoric after suffering heavy losses.

The call for dialogue comes after Pakistani security forces dealt a crushing blow to the Afghan Taliban regime and Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists in Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq. According to DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry’s detailed media briefing, the operation has resulted in:

  • 297 personnel of the Afghan Taliban regime and Khwarij terrorists killed
  • Over 400 terrorists wounded
  • More than 74 enemy posts completely destroyed
  • 18 check posts captured by Pakistani forces, where the national flag has been hoisted

Enemy Equipment Destroyed

The military spokesperson revealed that Pakistani forces have destroyed significant enemy assets, including:

  • 135 tanks, armored vehicles, and APCs
  • 22 hideouts of Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan

Pakistan’s Resolve

While the Afghan regime now seeks dialogue, Pakistan’s stance remains clear. DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry had earlier stated that there is “no difference between the Afghan Taliban regime and terrorists” , calling the setup the “mother of all proxies.”

He reiterated that Pakistan will continue to target terrorist sanctuaries and those providing them shelter, regardless of their location. “If terrorism or a suicide attack occurs anywhere in Pakistan, the response will not only be against the terrorists but also against those providing them sanctuary,” he had warned.

The DG ISPR emphasized that Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq is continuing on the directives of the Prime Minister, with the world understanding that this operation is for the protection of Pakistani citizens. “The nation is united against terrorism, rising above political differences. Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq will continue until its objectives are achieved,” he stated.

The Afghan Taliban regime’s call for talks is widely seen as a response to the devastating losses inflicted by Pakistan’s armed forces, which have significantly degraded their military infrastructure along the border.
