Pakistan’s defense credibility has significantly improved worldwide following the downing of 7 Indian aircrafts, including Rafales, during recent hostilities. Many countries are now keen to strengthen their defense ties with Pakistan.
Sudan is among the nations seeking to benefit from Pakistan’s defense capabilities. According to media reports, Pakistan is in the final stages of a $150 million deal to provide fighter jets and military equipment to Sudan.
As per Reuters, citing a former senior Pakistani Air Force official and three informed sources, this arms procurement deal will greatly bolster the Sudanese army, which is engaged in conflict with private militias.
Reuters reported that under the agreement, Pakistan will supply the Sudanese military with 10 Karakorum-8 light attack aircraft, over 200 surveillance and kamikaze drones, and advanced air defense systems.
The report also suggests that JF-17 fighter jets might be part of the deal, though details on this aspect are not yet clear.
Last month, Islamabad signed an arms sale agreement worth over $4 billion with Libya’s National Army, marking one of the largest defense deals in Pakistan’s history. This deal includes JF-17 combat and trainer aircraft.
