Bilawal Bhutto Warns of India’s Water War and Nuclear Threat

Bilwal warns India may trigger nuclear war

Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has once again warned the world about the dangerous ambitions of India’s Modi-led government — stating that India is not merely threatening to block Pakistan’s water, but is laying the groundwork for a potential nuclear conflict in the region. “This is not an emotional statement — it’s a factual concern,” he emphasized.

Speaking at the Middle East Institute in Washington, Bilawal said that while the United States succeeded in enforcing a ceasefire between Pakistan and India, it failed to establish lasting peace, as India’s aggressive posture continues to threaten regional stability. “The ongoing conflict between the two nuclear-armed nations could escalate into full-scale nuclear war,” he cautioned, adding that such a disaster would not only impact Pakistan and India but would destabilize the entire region.

During a media briefing at the conclusion of his U.S. visit, Bilawal accused India of weaponizing water and violating international agreements. “Blocking the water of 240 million people is an act of open aggression. No country can unilaterally suspend the Indus Waters Treaty,” he stated.

Bilawal also took a sharp dig at India, recalling its delay in admitting the downing of its fighter jets during previous conflicts with Pakistan. “It took India a full month to acknowledge their aircraft were shot down. Had Pakistan responded in kind, more Indian jets could have been targeted, but we chose restraint,” he said. “India started that war on the basis of a lie — and lost badly.”

He further emphasized that terrorism knows no religion, warning that terrorists often mask themselves under religion or nationalism. “There must be a unified global policy against both state actors and non-state terrorist groups,” he added.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was leading a parliamentary delegation to the United States, where he met with UN officials, U.S. lawmakers, and major think tanks. The purpose of the trip was to expose India’s aggression and long-term strategic threats. The delegation, under his leadership, has now arrived in the United Kingdom to continue diplomatic engagements.
