Pakistan Army Spokesperson: India Fuels Regional Instability

DG ISPR interview with RT Arabia

Web Desk – In a powerful and exclusive interview with RT Arabia, Pakistan Army spokesperson Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif shed light on the rising tensions between Pakistan and India, calling out New Delhi’s alleged role in fueling regional instability.

Lt. Gen. Sharif emphasized that to understand the current hostility, one must examine it in the broader context. He claimed that India is not only actively sponsoring terrorism in the region, especially within Pakistan, but also creating false narratives to conceal the truth.

Referring to the Pahalgam incident, the DG ISPR said that just minutes after the event, Indian media and social media accounts began blaming Pakistan without any investigation or evidence. However, two days later, the Indian External Affairs Ministry itself admitted that the investigation was still underway. “Is it fair to level blame without proof or proper inquiry?” he asked.

He further stated that Pakistan’s government had offered a clear and logical proposal: if India possesses any evidence, it should be shared with a neutral, independent body. Pakistan was ready to fully cooperate. Instead of responding to this call, India launched missile attacks on Pakistani mosques, killing innocent children, women, and elderly citizens.

Lt. Gen. Sharif accused India of being the main sponsor of terrorism inside Pakistan, whether through extremist outfits or separatist groups in Balochistan. He said that the Pakistan Army has been entrusted with the sacred duty of protecting the nation’s sovereignty and borders, and it will fulfill that duty at any cost.

He revealed that on the night of May 9 and 10, India launched additional missile attacks in an attempt to intimidate Pakistan. “But India forgot—Pakistan’s nation and armed forces do not bow, and cannot be forced to bow.”

On the morning of May 10, Pakistan responded with precision and restraint, targeting only Indian military assets while avoiding any civilian casualties. He described it as a measured, fair, and balanced response.

The Pakistan Army spokesperson also confirmed that it was India’s Ministry of Defence that approached Pakistan requesting a ceasefire. “Since we seek peace and stability, we accepted their offer,” he said. “We are a responsible and peace-loving nation. War is never our first choice—but defending our homeland is our foremost duty.”

Lt. Gen. Sharif concluded by stating that global powers like the United States understand the true spirit of the Pakistani people and should also recognize the consequences of Indian aggression in the region.
