David Wiese Commends Pakistan’s Security Amid Indo-Pak Tensions

David Wieses praises PSL security arrangements

Web Desk: While several foreign cricketers have expressed serious concerns over India’s security arrangements during the IPL, Lahore Qalandars’ all-rounder David Wiese has praised Pakistan’s security measures.

Wiese, who hails from New Zealand, said that during the recent tensions between Pakistan and India, foreign players were looked after in the best possible manner. “We were concerned about the airspace closure,” Wiese said in a social media conversation, “but Pakistani authorities reassured us and, as always, provided top-notch security.”

It is worth mentioning that due to the escalation in Pakistan-India tensions, both the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and the Indian Premier League (IPL) were temporarily disrupted. Players returning to their home countries have since taken to social media to share their experiences and concerns during that time.

New Zealand women’s cricketer Alyssa Healy publicly criticized India’s security protocols, calling them inadequate and concerning. In contrast, David Wiese’s remarks have highlighted Pakistan’s preparedness and professionalism even during difficult times.

“Even in a high-pressure environment, there were no unusual incidents or threats,” Wiese added. “Pakistan once again proved its capability to host international sports with world-class security arrangements.”
