Two Muslim women make history in America

The US media reported the women include 31 first-time House members which is seven more than record set for freshmen women during the 1992 “Year of the Woman” election.
For the first time in US history two Muslim women Rashida Tlaib and IIhan Omar have also been elected to serve in Congress.
Tlaib’s family came to US from Palestine while Omar, a Somali-American woman came to the US as a refugee more than 20 years ago, the media reported. Omar will also be the first hijab-wearing member of the Congress. Tlaib won a seat from Michigan while Omer won from Minnesota to become the member of the US Congress.
