Web Desk — On Tuesday, the Sindh government announced new curbs against Omicron, a new variant of Coronavirus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sindh’s Home Department announced that the National Command and Operations Centre had classified Karachi, Sukkur, and Sanghar in “category B” (cities with good vaccination progress), while other cities fell into “category C” (cities with low vaccination progress).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Taking into account the NCOC’s recommendations, the home department has announced new curbs that will be effective from December 1-15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The notification states that all educational institutes must ensure 100% attendance with a focused campaign to vaccinate students older than 12 years old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gatherings indoors and outdoors are limited to vaccinated individuals with an indoor capacity of 500 people and an outdoor capacity of 1,000 people in Karachi, Sukkur, and Sanghar. Other cities have allowed divisions of 300 people indoors and 1,000 people outside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Office hours will be followed and 100% attendance is allowed. The notification stated that all employees must be fully vaccinated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Markets and business activities can continue until 10 pm, while essential services – such as pharmacies, medical facilities, vaccination centers, petrol pumps, CNG stations, etc. – can operate 24\/7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Amusement parks, water sports, and swimming pools in Karachi, Sukkur, and Sanghar can function at 70% occupancy, while in the other cities and divisions, occupancy is limited to 50%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite COVID-19, parks will remain open to the public. Persons who are fully vaccinated are allowed to participate in contact sports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Only those who are fully vaccinated can use public transport with 80% occupancy. Masks must be worn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For fully vaccinated individuals, temples, gyms, and cinemas will remain open. Trains will operate with 80% occupancy and only fully vaccinated passengers can use the service. Masks are required.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
