ISLAMABAD<\/strong> \u2013 The Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) has issued an official statement confirming that PTI founder Imran Khan was brought to the hospital on the night of August 20-21 for a medical examination and treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the statement, two specialists from Shifa International Hospital participated in the eye examination as part of the multi-specialty assessment. The ophthalmological evaluation was conducted alongside other diagnostic tests, and the findings were incorporated into the final medical fitness report prepared by the PIMS medical board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Confidentiality Maintained
<\/strong>The hospital emphasized that patient confidentiality is being strictly observed, and the detailed medical report will not be made public in compliance with the Supreme Court directives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The hospital respects patient confidentiality and will not disclose the confidential details of the medical report, in line with Supreme Court orders,” the statement read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Background
<\/strong>The Supreme Court had issued a directive on August 18, ordering that Imran Khan be transferred to Shifa International Hospital for a full medical check-up. However, on the night of August 20, the government instead moved him to PIMS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Government ministers, including Atta Tarar and Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, explained that PTI workers had created a security situation outside Shifa Hospital, making it necessary to shift Khan to PIMS instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
