In an Instagram video statement, Yousuf Jamil addressed the controversy head-on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“People have the right to criticize, and those being criticized should listen. But alongside criticism, it is also necessary to hear the viewpoint of the person being criticized,” Yousuf said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He agreed that Maulana should have shaken the child’s hand \u2014 “There’s no problem in that” \u2014 but explained why it didn’t happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
