WASHINGTON<\/strong> \u2013 United States President Donald Trump<\/strong> has claimed that the United States and Iran are “very close” to reaching a comprehensive peace deal, asserting that Tehran has agreed to terms it previously rejected \u2014 including handing over its enriched uranium stockpile to Washington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking to reporters at the White House on Thursday, Trump painted an optimistic picture of the ongoing negotiations, which have been mediated by Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘They’ve Agreed to Almost Everything’<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Trump claimed significant progress in the talks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“They’ve agreed to give us back the nuclear dust. There’s a very good chance we’re going to make a deal,”<\/strong> Trump told reporters, using his term for enriched uranium that the US believes could be used to build nuclear weapons.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

According to the US President, Iran has shown new flexibility. “They’ve agreed to almost everything. They got to get to the table with a pen,”<\/strong> he said, adding that Tehran is now accepting conditions it had previously rejected outright.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump May Visit Islamabad for Signing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In a significant statement, Trump revealed that if a deal is finalized in Islamabad, he “might go”<\/strong> to Pakistan to sign it personally <\/a><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“If the deal is signed in Islamabad, I might go. Pakistan has been great. They’ve been so good,”<\/strong> Trump said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The US President heaped praise on Pakistan’s civilian and military leadership for their mediation role:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The field marshal has been great, the prime minister has been really great in Pakistan. They want me to go,”<\/strong> he stated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
