In a major counter-terrorism success, a female suicide bomber affiliated with the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has surrendered to law enforcement agencies in Balochistan, according to Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The woman, identified as Laiba from Khuzdar, appeared before media alongside the Chief Minister and shared her story of how she was radicalized and trained to carry out attacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking publicly, Laiba revealed that she was influenced by a Taliban commander named Ibrahim, who indoctrinated her and prepared her to become a suicide bomber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“He brainwashed me, and I was influenced by his words and agreed to become a suicide bomber. I was also tasked with bringing more Baloch women toward terrorism,” Laiba confessed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In an emotional appeal, Laiba urged young Baloch men and women to avoid falling prey to terrorist propaganda:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I appeal to Baloch youth and Baloch women to not fall into the traps of terrorists under any circumstances.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her words carried particular weight as someone who had been on the path to carrying out a deadly attack before having a change of heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, briefing media alongside Laiba, revealed that security forces apprehended her based on human intelligence, preventing what could have been a catastrophic incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The province has been saved from a major disaster. We arrested Laiba through human intelligence, and the country was saved from a major tragedy,” Bugti stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Chief Minister directly addressed Baloch youth who may be considering joining terrorist organizations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I ask Baloch youth\u2014for God’s sake, think about your future. See where the terrorists are leading you toward destruction.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bugti emphasized that terrorism contradicts Baloch traditions and values:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Killing innocent, unarmed people is against Baloch traditions. Baloch youth have been misguided in the name of Baloch nationalism.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bugti delivered a firm message to terrorist groups operating in the province:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I want to make it clear to terrorists that in fighting them, we will never tire, nor will we ever bow down.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Authorities indicated that Laiba’s case would be handled with a view toward rehabilitation, recognizing the value of her testimony in encouraging others to abandon the path of violence.
