In a significant leap in aerial warfare, the United States has officially begun production of its sixth-generation fighter jet, the F-47, being developed by Boeing under the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) program. The aircraft is designed to eventually replace the F-22 Raptor and is expected to make its maiden flight by 2028.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier in March 2025, US President Donald Trump had formally announced that Boeing was tasked with building the sixth-generation fighter under the NGAD initiative. He also revealed that experimental F-47 prototypes had been secretly flying since 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the US Air Force, the F-47\u2019s first official flight will take place before the end of Trump\u2019s current presidential term in January 2029.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
