The vessel is expected to arrive in Athens in the coming days, destined for Israel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The workers\u2019 union declared:<br><\/em><strong>\u201cPiraeus dockworkers will not become part of Israel\u2019s massacre. We will not unload military steel from the Ever Golden \u2013 No to Greece\u2019s complicity \u2013 Freedom for Palestine.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <strong>Vessel Finder<\/strong>, a container and ship tracking website, the <em>Ever Golden<\/em> is Japanese-owned, sailing under a Panamanian flag, and was near the <strong>West African coast<\/strong> on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ship is expected to arrive at Piraeus on July 14, where its cargo will be transferred to another container vessel named <strong>\u2018Folk Dammam\u2019<\/strong>, which will then proceed to Israel as the final destination. The <em>Ever Golden<\/em>, built in 2018, is transporting <strong>75 bundles of military-grade steel from India<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last week, the <strong>BDS Movement<\/strong> (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) posted on social media that this vessel is carrying materials aiding Israel\u2019s military during the ongoing <strong>genocide against 2.3 million Palestinians<\/strong> and is now en route to Greece. Once there, the steel will be shifted to the <em>Folk Dammam<\/em> and shipped to <strong>Haifa Port<\/strong> in Israel. The <em>Folk Dammam<\/em> was purchased on May 14 by <strong>Folk Maritime<\/strong>, a company owned by <strong>Saudi Arabia\u2019s Public Investment Fund (PIF)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Greek dockworkers under the <strong>ENEDYP (Piraeus Dockworkers\u2019 Union)<\/strong> stated:<br><strong>\u201cWe will not contribute to Israel\u2019s war crimes. This is military cargo that will be used to bomb children, civilians, hospitals, and schools\u2014just as Israel continues to do against the Palestinian people.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>They emphasized that:<br><\/em><strong>\u201cPiraeus port is not a base for the U.S., NATO, EU, or war profiteers. It belongs to workers and the labor movement. Just like in the past, we will not unload this killer cargo again.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ENEDYP has urged all workers to refuse any involvement with the ship, calling for unity against imperialist interventions.<br><strong>\u201cWe reject becoming tools of the U.S., NATO, EU, Israel, or China\u2014who seek to redraw the world map through bloodshed by using our lands.
