Reuters, citing a senior U.S. official, reported that Trump’s decision was driven by his opposition to a section of the communiqu\u00e9 urging de-escalation in the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The draft of the G7 joint statement carried several contentious clauses. It included reaffirmation of Israel\u2019s right to self-defense and labeled Iran as the primary source of regional instability and terror.
