Monitoring Desk<\/strong>: In recognition of the remarkable success of Operation Buny\u0101n-um-Mars\u016bs<\/em>, Pakistan\u2019s Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir has been promoted to the rank of Field Marshal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decision was taken during a meeting of the federal cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Following the cabinet\u2019s approval, the Prime Minister met with the President of Pakistan to formally brief him on the decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, it was decided to extend the services of Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu following the completion of his current term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those who rendered outstanding services during Operation Buny\u0101n al-Mars\u016bs<\/em> will also be honored with national awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Field Marshal Asim Munir expressed his gratitude and dedicated the honor to the people of Pakistan. \u201cI am thankful to Allah for this honor. This title belongs to the nation, and millions of Asims are ready to sacrifice for it. Our martyrs and veterans are our true heroes,\u201d<\/em> he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
