The report revealed that Tel Aviv had proposed dividing Syria into three blocs: Kurdish-controlled regions in the northeast, Druze areas in the south, and the remnants of the Assad regime in Damascus. However, those plans were reportedly disrupted following the rebel takeover and the fall of Assad on December 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under these newly developed plans, Israel\u2019s security establishment envisions Syria being divided into provincial regions or cantons. As reported by Israel Hayom, the move is intended to &#8220;safeguard the security and rights of all Syrian ethnic groups.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, Israeli Energy and Infrastructure Minister Eli Cohen suggested that the broader discussion of such plans be brought to an international conference.
