Web Desk — The Field General Court Martial has sentenced 25 individuals involved in the May 9 incidents. According to ISPR, these sentences were issued after thoroughly examining evidence and completing all legal procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All convicted individuals were provided with their legal rights during the proceedings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ISPR statement described May 9, 2023, as a dark chapter in Pakistan’s history, marked by violent incidents incited by politically motivated narratives. Military installations, including memorials of martyrs, were attacked and desecrated in an organized manner, causing grief and shock across the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The statement further emphasized that the May 9 incidents underscore that no one will be allowed to impose their will through political terrorism. A comprehensive investigation was conducted, and irrefutable evidence was collected against the culprits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some cases were referred to the Field General Court Martial, where legal trials were conducted following due process. On December 13, 2024, the Supreme Court of Pakistan directed the resolution of pending cases. Following this directive, the first phase of sentencing has concluded, with 25 individuals receiving sentences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  3. Raja Muhammad Ehsan<\/strong> (GHQ attack) \u2013 10 years rigorous imprisonment<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Rehmatullah<\/strong> (Punjab Regimental Center, Mardan attack) \u2013 10 years rigorous imprisonment<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Anwar Khan<\/strong> (PAF Base, Mianwali attack) \u2013 10 years rigorous imprisonment<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Muhammad Afaq Khan<\/strong> (Bannu Cantonment attack) \u2013 9 years rigorous imprisonment<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Dawood Khan<\/strong> (Chakdara Fort attack) \u2013 7 years rigorous imprisonment<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. Faheem Haider<\/strong> (Jinnah House attack) \u2013 6 years rigorous imprisonment<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  9. Zahid Khan<\/strong> (Multan Cantt checkpoint attack) \u2013 4 years rigorous imprisonment<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  10. Yasir Nawaz<\/strong> (Punjab Regimental Center, Mardan attack) \u2013 2 years rigorous imprisonment<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    The ISPR highlighted that justice will only be complete when the masterminds and planners behind the May 9 incidents are brought to justice under the Constitution and the law. Multiple cases are also being tried in anti-terrorism courts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The ISPR added that justice in these cases will serve as a message against exploiting people through divisive political propaganda and toxic narratives. Convicted individuals retain the right to appeal and pursue further legal remedies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
