Key Provisions of the Tax Law Amendment Bill 2024-25:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Bank Account Restrictions:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Non-filers will be prohibited from opening new bank accounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Excessive banking transactions by non-filers will be restricted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Property Acquisition Limits:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Non-filers will face limitations on purchasing properties exceeding a specific value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Acquisition of excessive shares will be completely barred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Vehicle Purchase Ban:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        Non-filers will be restricted from purchasing vehicles with engine capacities above 800 CC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        However, they can buy motorcycles, rickshaws, and tractors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        1. Freezing of Bank Accounts:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          Bank accounts belonging to unregistered businesses will be frozen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Non-filers will be unable to transfer property until compliance is achieved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          1. Government Authority to Sell Property:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

            The government will have the authority to sell properties owned by unregistered individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) will issue lists of affected individuals, leading to account freezes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            1. Sales Tax Registration Enforcement:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

              Non-filers who fail to register for sales tax will face account freezes and property transfer restrictions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              Accounts will only be unfrozen two days after the sales tax registration process is completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              Appeals to open accounts must be directed to the Chief Commissioner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              Additional Provisions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

              Spouses and children under 25 of registered filers will automatically be considered filers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              The restrictions will come into effect after an official notification from the federal government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
