{"id":596,"date":"2021-10-04T14:26:36","date_gmt":"2021-10-04T14:26:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsmakers.com.pk\/en\/?p=596"},"modified":"2021-10-04T14:26:39","modified_gmt":"2021-10-04T14:26:39","slug":"no-more-extension-for-returns-filing-deadline-fbr","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsmakers.com.pk\/en\/business\/no-more-extension-for-returns-filing-deadline-fbr\/596\/","title":{"rendered":"No More Extension For Returns Filing Deadline: FBR"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced that there would be no further extension in the deadline for returns filing beyond October 15, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a statement of the FBR, unlike in the past, FBRe uploaded forms for filing of Income Tax Returns for TY 2021 on July 01, 2021, and thus afforded taxpayers the statutory period of 90 days to file their tax returns by Sep 30, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FBR further stated that the extraordinary interest in existing and new taxpayers put huge pressure on Iris online portal which caused occasional disruptions and adversely affected its functional efficiency, particularly on September 30 is the last day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Keeping in view the unprecedented increase in users of our website and the hardships they faced owing to technical hiccups, FBR notified a one-time extension of 15 days on September 30 and extended the return filing deadline till October 15, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore, it is positively hoped that the taxpayers both old and new will benefit from this extended timeline to file their tax returns well ahead of the final date i.e. October 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is further reaffirmed that the extension given on September 30 was only due to the fact that FBR\u2019s IT System got overloaded and since that has been fixed now no more extension will be allowed beyond October 15, 2021.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced that there would be no further extension in the deadline for returns filing beyond October 15, 2021.
