In the meeting amendments to the NAB Ordinance, 2000 were discussed in detail. The final meeting in this regard will be held on Thursday (29\/09\/01).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the newspaper, a senior federal minister said that the government would extend the tenure of NAB chairman Javed Iqbal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The senior minister who was part of the PM-led meeting further said that it was yet to be clear whether the incumbent chairman&#8217;s tenure would be extended for another term or he would be allowed to work until the appointment of his successor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In case of an extension, it would be for four years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the report, one government functionary suggested to the PM to extend the NAB chairman&#8217;s tenure until the appointment of his successor.
