Web Desk — Department of Building Inspection San Francisco initiated an inquiry into flashing a giant “X” on top of the building formerly known as Twitter headquarters without permission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the Associated Press, the investigation began as the company failed to obtain the permits required to follow design and safety protocols.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Department of Building Inspection Spokesperson says any replacement signage requires a permit to ensure \u201cconsistency with the historic nature of the building\u201d and to make sure it is safely attached.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Patric Hannan, spokesperson for the Building Department, explained to the AP that a sign on top of a building also requires a permit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
San Francisco police, on Monday, stopped workers from removing Twitter’s bird logo from the building, saying they hadn\u2019t closed the sidewalk to keep pedestrians safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The changes we see in Twitter are due to its new owner Elon Musk who wants to rebrand the microblogging website Twitter to X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The “X” headquarters is located in downtown San Francisco, a few yards away from its City Hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Musk bought Twitter for $44 billion last year and since then he is making drastic changes to the platform. The change of Twitter’s logo from a bird to an X is part of many changes that Musk has in the pipeline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino did a series of posts about the platform rebranding, saying X will transform the “global town square.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She wrote in her tweets that X is the future state of unlimited interactivity \u2013 centered on video, audio, messaging, payments, and banking. Yaccarino added that Twitter will create a global marketplace for ideas, goods, services, and opportunities. The Twitter CEO said that X with the power of AI will connect us all in ways we\u2019re just beginning to imagine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Twitter’s present owner Elon Musk is also the CEO of Tesla. Musk is the CEO of Space Exploration Technologies Corp., known as SpaceX. He also founded X.com in the 1990s, now known as PayPal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
