Monitoring Desk — Senior journalist Hamid Mir reported on Saturday that the government and PTI leadership have decided to incite violence in the federal capital on Sunday on the occasion of voting on the no-confidence motion in the National Assembly against Prime Minister Imran Khan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hamid Mir, during Geo News programme “Naya Pakistan”, quoted sources as saying that the government and the PTI leadership have decided confine the Opposition lawmakers within the parliament lodges to stop them from reaching the National Assembly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hamid Mir further revealed the plan and said the opposition lawmakers, who manage to reach the National Assembly, will be beaten by the PTI workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the other hand, National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser and Attorney General of Pakistan Khalid Jawed Khan have told the government that they cannot delay the voting on the no-confidence motion as the Constitution does not allow it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
‘No evidence of foreign conspiracy’<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Capital Talk anchor quoting his sources as saying that security establishment did through investigations into the alleged threatening letter within and outside the country but found no evidence of a “threat” that the prime minister has mentioned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The prime minister and the government lawmakers have accused the United States of hatching a “conspiracy” to oust the incumbent government \u2014 and claim the Opposition is part of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The prime minister was asked whether he had any evidence of the threat or not, but till now, he did not provide any,” Mir said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
PM Office denies the report
However, the Prime Minister’s House contradicted the report. “The Prime Minister’s Office strongly denies the news and strongly condemns such a one-sided propaganda campaign,” said the PM Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Baseless news is being aired on a media channel regarding the no-confidence motion, according to which the opposition members of the National Assembly will be prevented from reaching the lower house tomorrow.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
