Web Desk — The notorious Islamabad couple harassment case finally comes to an end as Usman Mirza, the main accused, was sentenced to life in prison on Friday for holding the couple at gunpoint, forcing them to strip, beating them, and filming the entire ordeal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additional Sessions Judge Ata Rabbani announced the verdict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Four of Mirza’s accomplices and co-accused \u2014 Hafiz Ataur Rehman, Adaras Qayyum Butt, Mohib Bangash, and Farhan Shaheen \u2014 have been sent to jail for life as well, while two other men, Umar Bilal and Rehan Hassan Mughal, have been acquitted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The court has ordered them to pay a fine of Rs200,000 each. In case of non-payment, they would have to undergo six months of simple imprisonment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Incident<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In July of last year, a video showed the primary accused in the case, Usman Mirza, severely thrashing and tormenting the young couple in a room full of other males leaked on social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Islamabad police arrested Mirza and filed a first information report (FIR) in the case just hours after the video went viral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who is Usman Mirza?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Usman Mirza, a property trader and a partner of Autoland in Islamabad, is implicated in the crime of violence against girls and boys. He allegedly owns a showroom, according to social media posts. Usman Mirza\u2019s showroom, according to the accusation, is in the business of buying, selling, and renting new and used cars. Usman Mirza studied computer science at the Punjab College of Commerce, according to his Facebook page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
