{"id":1794,"date":"2022-02-21T23:17:49","date_gmt":"2022-02-21T23:17:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsmakers.com.pk\/en\/?p=1794"},"modified":"2022-02-21T23:20:37","modified_gmt":"2022-02-21T23:20:37","slug":"local-manufacturers-protest-over-irans-dairy-products-in-pakistan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsmakers.com.pk\/en\/business\/local-manufacturers-protest-over-irans-dairy-products-in-pakistan\/1794\/","title":{"rendered":"Local Manufacturers Protest Over Iran&#8217;s Dairy Products in Pakistan"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Web Desk &#8212; After bad quality cooking oil, bread and confectionary items, cheap Iranian dairy goods have occupied place in the Pakistani markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pakistani buyers might be benefiting from these minimal expense Iranian merchandise, yet the local producers are exceptionally enraged over the rising presence of smuggled Iranian dairy items.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CEO Pakistan Dairy Association (PDA) Dr Shehzad Amin says the smuggled Iranian dairy items are present in retail shops of Karachi, Sukkur, Islamabad, Lahore, Sargodha, Peshawar and Jhelum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said the the infiltration of these items in the Pakistani markets can be controlled through severe border monitoring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsmakers.com.pk\/en\/business\/no-sales-tax-on-import-of-fresh-fruit-from-kabul\/578\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NO SALES TAX ON IMPORT OF FRESH FRUIT FROM KABUL<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The dairy items including UHT dairy cream, fluid milk, enhanced milk, yougurt, cheese, dairy milk, gouda cheese, cheddar cheese and ricotta cheese have lower price than the locally produced dairy items.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Giving example, he said a locally made top notch dairy cream costs Rs140 (200ML) though its Iranian partner is selling at Rs100-110.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr Shehzad Amin said that the locally made fluid milk is accessible at Rs160 per liter while the smuggled item can be bought at Rs100-115.
