{"id":1074,"date":"2022-01-13T07:03:19","date_gmt":"2022-01-13T07:03:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsmakers.com.pk\/en\/?p=1074"},"modified":"2022-01-13T07:19:38","modified_gmt":"2022-01-13T07:19:38","slug":"hareem-shah-under-fias-money-laundering-radar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsmakers.com.pk\/en\/pakistan\/hareem-shah-under-fias-money-laundering-radar\/1074\/","title":{"rendered":"Hareem Shah under FIA&#8217;s Money Laundering Radar"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Web Desk &#8212; Hareem Shah, a social media celebrity who claims to be involved in money laundering, is now under investigation by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe FIA has initiated an inquiry against Hareem Shah over money laundering,\u201d said a spokesperson for the Sindh FIA. \u201cThe FIA has decided to write a letter to the United Kingdom\u2019s National Crime Agency to take action against Hareem Shah whose real name is Fiza Husain.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FIA initiated action following the release of a video on social media in which Ms. Shah claimed to have transferred a large sum of money to the UK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsmakers.com.pk\/en\/entertainment\/usman-and-ushna-appearing-in-crime-thriller\/1070\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Usman and Ushna appearing in crime thriller<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We are obtaining the woman&#8217;s visa, immigration documents, and travel documents,&#8221; the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hareem Shah travelled from Karachi airport to Doha in Qatar on Jan 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She posted a video on social media showing a large amount of cash in her hands. In the video, she says she brought a large sum of money to the UK and nothing happened to her because in Pakistan the law only applies to the poor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A spokesperson for the FIA said that money laundering involves the transfer of currency through illegal means. &#8220;The FIA has also requested details from customs and the Airport Security Force.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hareem Shah has often been in news headlines for her controversial acts.
