There is only one topic in Pakistan these days and that is Molana Fazal ur Rehman’s Azadi March and Dharna at D-Chowk Islamabad. This is exactly the same place where Imran Khan and his party protested for 126 days against the then PML-N government led by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
After reluctance from the PML-N and the PPP to have a clear stance regarding Islamabad March, Molana Fazal ur Rehman finally announced 27th October, the day for Azadi March towards Islamabad. The Peoples Party and the PML-N have called on their high level meetings to decide whether or not to join the JUI-F protest or not. As compared to PPP, the PML-N stance has been more dubious.
Let’s find out.
The latest proposal by the PML-N was to take Dharna to November or even after November, though the Party failed to convince Molana for this proposal. Some political pundits believe the Nawaz Sharif party, now led by Shahbaz Sharif, does not want to give bad message to the army chief on the inception of his second term. The PML-N is hopeful that both Nawaz Sharif and Mariam Nawaz will be out of jail by November and that will benefit the party politically. Nawaz league believes that the credibility of the present government is falling day by day and time is not far when the masses will be on roads against this government. Likewise the hangover of Imran Khan’s UN speech will also have gone down the drain with the passage of time and bitter economic realities will once again appear before the common man to compel him to get rid of this government. According to the PML-N if things happen this way, it will be easier to send this set up home. The Noon league sources claim they have clues that some powerful circles want to break the “covert stories” of some important ministers who are good for nothing. The main opposition party in the National Assembly rightly believes things will become easier and manageable if those hidden stories come to light. One example. Sitting of Imran Khan’s crony Zulfi Bukhari in sensitive diplomatic meetings does not please “masters.” Perhaps this is reputation of some ministers that Imran Khan has publicly announced that he is going to reshuffle the federal cabinet.
By the way, Molana has announced the final date of his Islamabad march. Now it depends on other parties when and how they join Fazal ur Rehman.
