WASHINGTON: (By Ali Usman) United States President Donald Trump has offered help to mediate Kashmir Dispute between India and Pakistan which has remained a bone of contention between the two countries over 70 years.
Trump, who held a meeting with Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan at Oval Office on Monday, said he would love to be a mediator, adding that Indian Prime Minister Nardendra Modi had also asked him to play a role. Imran Khan, talking to reporters said the President would get prayers of one billion people if he resolves the long running dispute between the two countries.
Meanwhile, Indian government maintained that Kashmir is a bilateral issue and no third party had a role to play in it.
“We have seen President of the United States remarks to the press that he is ready to mediate, if requested by India and Pakistan, on Kashmir issue. No such request has been made by PM Naredra Modi to US President.
